Web 2.0 is maturing and rapidly becoming much more than simple bookmark tagging software. Tools like scuttle and del.icio.us help researchers organize and share web pages. Newer tools are taking bookmarking to another level. A recent presentation opened my eyes to the possibilities of tagging assay data and screens using Jumper (www.jumpernetworks.com) to transform data sharing across projects and disciplines.

Aaah.. "first build a frequency list of terms in all documents, then index the top terms (using tfidf with probably a lot of weight on the term frequency)." Now you're thinking like a Google algorithm. I like the frequency list idea.

People search is well served by such a concept as 'peoplicious' which is just a prototype - but a brilliant one. Thanks for keeping the web a fascinating place to do people search. After all, it's not the computers that are important - it's the folks sitting patiently in front of them!

Thanks.

You can see some blog work on the sessions at Wordcamp at www.web2.0blognetworks.com, this from the CEO of RBN one of the sponsors of WordCamp. Keep in mind that I'm not one of the writers on the network, therefore expect the writing to be very much the key points from my perspective.
